Shipping Officer

<p class="text-muted mb-3">A global manufacturing business is seeking a Shipping Officer to support international shipping operations, ensuring products are delivered efficiently and compliantly to customers worldwide.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">The Shipping Officer will play a key role in coordinating export and import activities, managing shipping documentation and customs processes, and acting as a central point of contact for delivery-related enquiries. Working closely with Sales, Engineering, Production, Finance and external logistics partners, you will help ensure shipments are processed accurately, on time and in line with customer expectations.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Specific duties of the Shipping Officer include:</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Manage and coordinate international export and import shipments, ensuring deliveries are completed in line with customer and business</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Generate invoices and maintain accurate shipping administration within the ERP system.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Act as the primary point of contact for customer and internal queries relating to deliveries, shipping documentation and order status.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Prepare and complete all necessary shipping certificates, customs documentation and detailed shipment records.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Coordinate UK import activities, providing customs clearance instructions to freight and clearance agents within tight timescales.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Minimise storage costs and delivery delays through effective management of customs and import processes.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Arrange the shipment, collection and associated documentation for demonstration equipment, loan units and exhibition materials.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Work collaboratively with internal departments and external partners to resolve shipping issues and ensure a high level of customer service.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Shipping Officer applicants should meet the following criteria:</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Proven experience within an international shipping, logistics, import/export or freight administration environment.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Working knowledge of import/export regulations, customs procedures and international shipping documentation.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Strong organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise competing demands.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Excellent attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy when handling documentation and shipment records.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Confident communicator, capable of dealing with customers, freight partners and internal stakeholders at all levels.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ability to work effectively within a team whilst also driving issues and resolutions independently.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Good IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">A proactive, positive and solutions-focused approach to work.</p>
