JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you an experienced HGV Technician looking for a strong basic salary, day shifts and a stable fleet-based position?

We are recruiting an HGV Technician to join a large, well-established fleet operation in East London.

You will be responsible for maintaining a busy commercial vehicle fleet, carrying out inspections, servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs to ensure vehicles remain safe, compliant and available for daily operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who enjoys working within a professional fleet environment where vehicle reliability, safety and workshop standards are taken seriously.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and trailers
• Completing routine safety inspections and preventative maintenance
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
• Rectifying defects and minimising vehicle downtime
• Preparing vehicles for MOT and statutory inspections
• Ensuring vehicles meet DVSA and company compliance standards
• Completing maintenance records and workshop documentation accurately
• Working closely with transport teams to maximise vehicle availability
• Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety and workshop housekeeping
• Supporting continuous improvement within the workshop

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be considered, you should have:

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
• Previous experience working on HGVs or commercial vehicle fleets
• Strong mechanical, electrical and diagnostic skills
• Good knowledge of DVSA maintenance and inspection standards
• A full UK driving licence
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team

A Class 1 or Class 2 HGV licence would be advantageous but is not essential.

Experience with electronic diagnostic equipment, fleet maintenance operations, welding or fabrication would also be beneficial.

SHIFT PATTERN

06:00 – 18:00

The role operates on a rotating:

4 Days On / 4 Days Off

3 Days On / 3 Days Off

This is a day-shift position.
