Gatehouse/Yard Operative

We are currently recruiting for a Gatehouse / Yard Person to join our team in Bilston on a permanent basis.

This is a hands-on role requiring an individual who is comfortable working outdoors and can effectively manage the flow of vehicles entering and leaving the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for all drivers entering and exiting the site.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with drivers, visitors, and site personnel.
• Monitor and control access to the premises, ensuring site procedures are followed.
• Direct vehicles to the appropriate loading, unloading, and parking areas.
• Complete relevant gatehouse and yard administration where required.
• Maintain a safe and tidy working environment within the yard and gatehouse areas.
• Adhere to all company health and safety policies and procedures.
• Support the wider operations team as required.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Gatehouse, Yard Person, Security, Traffic Marshall, or similar role is essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions for approximately 50% of each shift.
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow site procedures.
• Health and Safety experience or awareness is desirable.
