Annual Salary: Up to £65,000 OTE

Location: Harlow

Hours:

Week 1: Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 15:00

Week 2: Monday to Friday, 12:00 - 20:00 plus Saturday, 07:00 - 12:00

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter to join a busy commercial workshop in Exeter. This role offers a stable, strong hourly pay and the chance to work on a modern HGV fleet in a clean, well equipped environment. As an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter, you’ll carry out high quality servicing, diagnostics and repairs to DVSA and manufacturer standards.

The

requirements for the HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter role

Carry out routine inspections, servicing, and repairs to HGVs, LGVs, and trailers

Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and annual inspections to DVSA standards

Perform fault finding and diagnostics using Texa and Jaltest diagnostic systems

Complete defect repairs to the highest standard

Maintain accurate service records and documentation

Work on a wide variety of heavy vehicle and trailer mechanical work

Experience and Qualifications needed for HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter:

Proven experience as an HGV mechanic, HGV technician, HGV Fitter or commercial vehicle technician

Strong knowledge of HGV and trailer systems, repairs, and maintenance standards

Experience with diagnostic equipment (Texa, Jaltest, or similar) - training available

Ability to perform routine inspections, servicing, MOT preparation, and fault finding

Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team

Class 2 / Cat C driving licence (preferred but not essential)

City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent automotive qualification (advantageous)
