CLASS 2 HGV DRIVER – FAREHAM

Our Fareham-based client is looking for an experienced and professional Class 2 HGV Driver to join their busy transport and logistics operation.

TEMP TO PERM OPPORTUNITY WITH IMMEDIATE START

This role will primarily involve delivering palletised and caged goods to airport lounges and catering facilities at Gatwick and Heathrow Airports.

THE ROLE

Safely operate HGV Class 2 / LGV2 / Category C rigid vehicles.

Complete regular deliveries to Gatwick and Heathrow Airports, including airport lounges

Deliver palletised and caged goods safely and efficiently to designated airport locations.

Load and unload goods from the HGV using hydraulic tail-lifts, manual pallet trucks and electric pallet trucks.

Complete multidrop deliveries while working to strict delivery schedules and deadlines.

Safely secure all loads before leaving the depot and ensure goods are transported without damage.

Carry out daily HGV vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance issues.

Complete delivery paperwork, PDA records and obtain customer signatures where required.

Communicate with the Transport Office regarding deliveries, delays and any issues encountered on the road.

Provide a professional and friendly service when dealing with airport staff, lounge teams and customers.

Follow all airport, company, Health & Safety and transport procedures.

Ensure all driving complies with Drivers' Hours, Tachograph and Working Time Directive regulations.

THE IDEAL CLASS 2 DRIVER

Valid UK Category C / Class 2 / LGV2 driving licence.

Valid Driver CPC / DQC and Digital Tachograph Card.

Minimum 6 months' recent UK HGV Class 2 driving experience.

Previous experience with multidrop deliveries is desirable.

Experience delivering to airports, catering facilities, hospitality venues or commercial customers would be advantageous.

Experience using tail-lifts and pallet trucks.

Good knowledge of UK roads and delivery routes.

Professional, reliable and customer-focused approach.

Comfortable with loading, unloading and manual handling.

DRIVING & COMPLIANCE

Clean driving licence preferred, with a maximum of 3 minor penalty points considered subject to insurance requirements.

No major driving convictions, including DD, DR, CD or IN10 codes.

A Basic DBS certificate issued within the last 6 months will be required due to the nature of the role and airport deliveries.
