Trainee CNC Operator
Our Client based in Pudsey is seeking 3 Trainee CNC Operators to join their very successful business on a temporary to permanent basis. The Client produces their products to a high technical standard and fulfil their customers' needs for quality and reliability.
As part of a team you will work adeptly and efficiently, setting up CNC programs, feeding the machines, and checking the products' dimensions manually (in- process) and/ or using CMM machines.
Main Tasks
You will be trained in the following:
Read drawings and creates CNC programs accordingly
Setting up and programming CNC machines (Mazak)
First- off dimensional tests on new programs
Feeding and running CNC machines
In-process controls using manual devices (gauges, micrometer)
Finished product inspections using CNC CMM machines
Problem-aware, active handling of CNC machines
Reporting in SAP and on paper
The Candidate
Good capacity to work in a small team
Mazak CNC experience would be beneficial
Methodical skills like 5S or CIP useful
Ability to demonstrate initiative and work independently
Willing to improve themselves and their work environment
Hours of Work
Rotating Shifts
Week 1) 0600 – 1400 Monday to Thursday, 0600 – 1230 noon Friday
Week 2) 1400 – 2345 Monday to Thursday, no working on Friday
Pay / Benefits
As Trainee you will start on £12.71 initially which will increase based upon performance - a 26% payment uplift when working on the rotating shift pattern Week 2 hours will also be offered.
Once you become a permanent employee you will 26 days holiday plus the 8 statutory bank holidays.
Continuous training will be provided
