Project Freight Coordinator

Our client is looking to appoint a Project Freight Coordinator to join their Kent-based team. This is a fully office-based role with no remote working option.

The successful candidate will bring solid experience from a freight forwarding or logistics environment, with strong knowledge of international shipping, customs processes and freight documentation. Exposure to events or project forwarding would be highly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate international freight movements and customer shipping requirements
• Provide practical solutions to resolve client freight and logistics challenges
• Manage UK and international customs requirements including home use, temporary imports and exports.
• Prepare shipping documentation and courier shipment paperwork
• Deliver a high standard of customer service throughout the shipment process
• Manage multiple tasks accurately while working to strict deadlines
• Apply sound commercial judgement when resolving freight issues
• Support customers with a professional, proactive and positive approach

Essential Requirements:

• At least 3 + years’ previous experience working in a freight team environment
• Strong knowledge of the international transportation and logistics industry
• Good understanding of UK and international customs requirements
• Experience raising shipping documents
• Excellent customer service skills with a strong organisational skillset
• High attention to detail and strong administrative ability
• Able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
• Professional, positive and self-motivated approach
