Duties

• Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including flatbed trucks, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies

• Load, secure, and unload cargo with precision, ensuring goods are transported safely and securely

• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to identify any maintenance needs or safety concerns

• Plan efficient routes to optimize delivery schedules and reduce transit times

• Complete all necessary documentation, including delivery logs, vehicle checklists, and compliance paperwork

• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and customers to coordinate delivery times and address any issues promptly

• Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude when interacting with clients and team members

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving license with a clean driving record

• Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with flatbed loads and delivery operations

• Knowledge of current road safety regulations and transportation legislation

• Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as loading/unloading cargo and securing loads on flatbeds

• Strong navigation skills and familiarity with route planning tools

• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach

• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed
