<p class="text-muted mb-3">JOB DESCRIPTION</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Are you an experienced HGV or PSV Technician looking for a varied role where you can work across heavy commercial vehicles, coaches, plant and electric vehicles?</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced technician to join a busy engineering operation in Edinburgh.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">The role is predominantly heavy vehicle based, with a strong focus on HGV and PSV maintenance. You will also work on a smaller number of plant vehicles and LCVs.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">The fleet includes approximately 22 coaches, around 50% of which are electric, making this a particularly good opportunity for someone looking to build experience with modern EV technology.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">You do not need previous experience across every vehicle type. Strong HGV or PSV experience is the priority, alongside a willingness to learn and develop across the wider fleet.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">To be considered, you should ideally have:</p>

<li class="d-flex align-items-start mb-2"><i class="mdi mdi-circle-medium text-success fs-15 me-2 mt-1"></i><span>Strong HGV, PSV or heavy commercial vehicle maintenance experience</span></li>

<li class="d-flex align-items-start mb-2"><i class="mdi mdi-circle-medium text-success fs-15 me-2 mt-1"></i><span>NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent heavy vehicle qualification</span></li>

<li class="d-flex align-items-start mb-2"><i class="mdi mdi-circle-medium text-success fs-15 me-2 mt-1"></i><span>Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills</span></li>

<li class="d-flex align-items-start mb-2"><i class="mdi mdi-circle-medium text-success fs-15 me-2 mt-1"></i><span>Experience carrying out servicing, inspections and repairs</span></li>

<li class="d-flex align-items-start mb-2"><i class="mdi mdi-circle-medium text-success fs-15 me-2 mt-1"></i><span>A willingness to work across HGV, PSV, plant and LCV vehicles</span></li>

<li class="d-flex align-items-start mb-2"><i class="mdi mdi-circle-medium text-success fs-15 me-2 mt-1"></i><span>A full UK driving licence</span></li>

<li class="d-flex align-items-start mb-2"><i class="mdi mdi-circle-medium text-success fs-15 me-2 mt-1"></i><span>The ability to attend site within one hour when on call</span></li>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Previous experience working with electric vehicles would be advantageous but is not essential.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Plant or LCV experience would also be beneficial, although training and development can be provided for technicians who have not previously worked across the full fleet.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">ON-CALL AND OVERTIME</p>

<li class="d-flex align-items-start mb-2"><i class="mdi mdi-circle-medium text-success fs-15 me-2 mt-1"></i><span>Any call-out is paid for a minimum of three hours at the applicable overtime rate.</span></li>

<li class="d-flex align-items-start mb-2"><i class="mdi mdi-circle-medium text-success fs-15 me-2 mt-1"></i><span>Monday-to-Friday overtime is paid at time and a half.</span></li>

<li class="d-flex align-items-start mb-2"><i class="mdi mdi-circle-medium text-success fs-15 me-2 mt-1"></i><span>Saturday and Sunday overtime is paid at double time.</span></li>

<li class="d-flex align-items-start mb-2"><i class="mdi mdi-circle-medium text-success fs-15 me-2 mt-1"></i><span>You must be able to attend the site within approximately one hour when called out.</span></li>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">SALARY AND REVIEWS</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">The fixed basic salary is £43,915 per annum.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">The company carries out an annual pay review, with additional individual salary reviews after 6 months and 18 months.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Combined with overtime, weekend work, call-outs and standby payments, there is strong potential to increase overall annual earnings.</p>
