HGV Fitter

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Monday to Friday position, Standard days, Permanent position, up to £46,644 per annum + Overtime. A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced HGV Fitter to join a growing specialist vehicle manufacturer based in the Preston area.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">The company designs, builds and services a range of specialist commercial and municipal vehicles and is continuing to invest in its workshop and engineering teams due to increased demand.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Working as part of a skilled workshop team, the HGV Fitter will be responsible for servicing, repairing and modifying heavy commercial vehicles, ensuring they are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Duties of the HGV Fitter:</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and specialist vehicles</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Installing and replacing vehicle components and equipment</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Completing inspections, safety checks and preventive maintenance</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Working from engineering drawings, job sheets and service schedules</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Preparing vehicles for MOT and final inspection</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Completing all job documentation accurately</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Maintaining high housekeeping and health & safety standards</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">We would welcome people to apply that have:</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Previous experience as an HGV Fitter, HGV Technician or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Experience working on commercial vehicles, refuse vehicles, municipal vehicles or plant equipment</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Strong mechanical fault-finding ability</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems would be advantageous</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ability to work independently and as part of a busy workshop team</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent is desirable but not essentialWhat's on offer for the HGV Fitter:</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Up to £23.00 per hour depending on experience</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Overtime available at enhanced rates</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Monday to Friday working hours</p>
