HGV Trailer Technician

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a highly skilled HGV Trailer Technician to join their reputable team in Shepshed, Leicestershire. The successful individual will play a vital role in maintaining the operational efficiency of a varied fleet of HGV trailers and trucks. Competitive basic salary of £44,000 per annum, with potential earnings up to £55,000 including overtime

Overtime paid at 1.5x rate, with hours Monday–Thursday, 7:00am–5:00pm; Friday, 7:00am–4:30pm

Recognition schemes including awards and vouchersDuties of a HGV Trailer Technician:

Conduct routine inspections, servicing, and preventative maintenance on HGV trailers and trucks

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, braking, and suspension faults

Perform repairs to vehicle systems, including brakes, suspension, electrical, and bodywork

Replace and adjust vehicle components to maintain safety and compliance standards

Ensure all work adheres to DVSA regulations and safety requirements

Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities

Contribute to a safe, clean, and organised workshop environment

Collaborate with team members to achieve operational efficiencyRequirements of a HGV Trailer Technician:

Proven experience as an HGV Trailer Mechanic, HGV Technician, or similar heavy vehicle role

Level 3 Heavy Vehicle qualification or equivalent time-served experience

Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, braking, and suspension systems

Familiarity with DVSA standards and vehicle safety regulations

IRTEC certification is desirable or willingness to attain it

Proactive, safety-conscious mindset with strong diagnostic skills
