Distribution & Facilities Assistant

Our client is a fabulous organisation seeking a Distribution & Facilities Assistant. Ideally you will have experience listed below, but candidates with basic plumbing and electrical skills, maintenance skills and ideally warehouse experience. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to progress and equally, someone who is happy to stay in this role. Superb interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to learn and reliability is keen. You will be available to start work on a TEMP – PERM basis.

Distribution Assistant (80% of role)

You will be an active team member for processing both Goods In and Goods Out. The role will include ensuring that stock is safely stored and secured in accordance with Company Policy. Responsible for the shipping of goods out for UK domestic and export transportation to Europe including export control when required.

Facilities Assistant (20% of role)

To be responsible for the fabric of the building. To maintain the building in accordance with the company lease. Support the Facilities Manager with maintenance contracts and contractor work. Support the Facilities Manager with arranging utility supplies and waste management including monitoring usage.

Main Responsibilities will include.

Receiving, handling, and processing goods-in including import documentation

Processing orders for despatch (Goods Out) including export documentation

Dealing with couriers and problem solving.

To keep up to date with the latest dangerous goods regulations and guidelines. Making sure all dangerous goods are shipped in accordance with the latest IATA & ADR regulations.

Stock control, movement of stock between warehouses on sage including bi-annual stock-takes

Dealing with suppliers for product quality and pricing.

Raising purchase orders for building and office supplies

Raising purchase orders for packaging supplies for Goods Out.

Support the Facilities Manager for building maintenance planning and safety compliance as well as vendor and contract management for cleaning, security and repair services.

Deal and respond to e-mails.

Compile works orders

Deal with HMRC import/export when required

Arrange inward processing relief (IPR) on repairs being received from outside the UK.

Ensure Group Export Control Policy and process is adhered to and followed

Keeping up to date records for utilities.

General admin duties and any other tasks required by the Manager and Company

Ideal Required Skills

Working knowledge of inventory management, order fulfilment and transportation logistics

Basic knowledge of building and planning maintenance (HVAC, electrical & plumbing)

Working knowledge of Import and Export for both domestic and international markets including customs

SAGE X3 or any similar ERP experience

Microsoft office 365 including Teams

Courier web service –UPS WorldShip, My DPD, FedEx ship manager.

Working knowledge of barcoding for Goods In/Out

Good understanding of Stock control

Basic knowledge of Export control

Strong administration and organisational skills.

Attention to detail.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills
