<p class="text-muted mb-3">We are working with an established and successful freight forwarding and logistics business based in the DA2 area, who are looking to add an experienced Import Operator / Customs professional to their team.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">The company operates across road, sea and air freight, with a strong European road freight operation and established customs capabilities.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">This is a great opportunity for someone with previous import forwarding and customs experience who is looking to join a friendly and well-established team.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">The Role</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Working as part of the operations team,</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">you will be responsible for managing import shipments from start to finish, ensuring customs</p>

<h5 class="fw-bold text-success mt-4 mb-3">requirements are met and shipments move efficiently and compliantly.</h5>

<h5 class="fw-bold text-success mt-4 mb-3">Key responsibilities include</h5>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Managing import shipments from booking through to final delivery</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Completing and processing import customs entries</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Liaising with customers, hauliers, overseas agents and other relevant parties</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Preparing and checking import documentation</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ensuring customs declarations are accurate and compliant</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Managing customs queries and resolving issues promptly</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Monitoring shipments and providing customers with regular updates</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Coordinating with transport and warehouse teams to ensure smooth movement of goods</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ensuring all relevant customs and operational records are maintained accurately</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Assisting with general import operations and customer service</p>

<h5 class="fw-bold text-success mt-4 mb-3">About You</h5>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">The ideal candidate will have previous experience within freight forwarding, import operations and/or customs, with a good understanding of the import process.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">You should have:</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Previous experience in an import operations or freight forwarding role</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Good knowledge of UK customs procedures</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Experience with CDS and customs declarations</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Good communication skills and confidence dealing with customers and suppliers</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">The ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a busy environment</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Good IT skills and experience working with freight/customs systems</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">A proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Experience within European road freight would be advantageous, although candidates with a wider freight forwarding background will also be considered.</p>
