<p class="text-muted mb-3">Hatfield is a major picking depot, employing more than 180 colleagues and operating a fleet of more than 80 vehicles. The depot serves major convenience retailers in the region.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">What you'll be doing</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Provide leadership and direction to the team to ensure that they are engaged, focused, developed and delivering to their potential</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Promote and monitor operational practices, using available tracking tools, to ensure that safety and compliance with the road traffic act are always the critical priorities</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Oversee the maintenance of the vehicle fleet to ensure compliance with the vehicle check and servicing practices, cleanliness, food safety</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Maintain close communication with Greencore sites and customers to ensure that all parties are kept informed of any schedule or revised collection or delivery times</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Establish programmes to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilisation of the transport</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Construct budgets and associated drivers' rota and communicating any required changes from the planning team. Review resource plans in response to any changes so that the planning team can make required changes manage spend to ensure maximise cost efficiency whilst delivering on key business objectives</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ensure use of Greencore handheld delivery technology to ensure accurate customer billing</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Monitor key performance indicator and budget performance to identify and implement continuous improvement programmes</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">What we're looking for</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Relevant degree or equivalent experience</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC is a legal requirement for holder of the operating license)</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Previous experience in Transport Management and strategic distribution modelling</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Highfield Level 2 or experience of building a safety-first culture</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Evidence of leading and engaging with geographically disbursed teams</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Evidence of setting and managing budgets and promoting cost efficiency</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Evidence of delivering business improvement through the application of Lean practices</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Working with Customers to build sustained relationships</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Knowledge of telematics (ISOTRAK or equivalent)</p>
