Trade Compliance Officer / Manager - 6 Month FTC

<p class="text-muted mb-3">A fantastic opportunity for a Trade Compliance Officer OR Manager has arisen to join a leading defence and advanced technology organisation. You'll work closely with Legal, Project, Engineering, Sales, Operations and Finance teams, ensuring trade compliance</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">This role focuses on maintaining compliance with UK, EU and international import and export controls. You'll manage export licensing activity, customs classifications, internal procedures, audits and regulatory reporting while acting as a trusted point of contact for trade compliance matters across the business.</p>

<h5 class="fw-bold text-success mt-4 mb-3">Key responsibilities of the Trade Compliance Officer / Trade Compliance Manager role include, but are not limited to</h5>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ensure import and export activity complies with UK, EU and international trade regulations, relevant legislation and internal company policies.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Work alongside Project and Engineering teams to establish Commodity List Classifications, Export Control Ratings and customs classifications.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Prepare and submit export licence applications and other UK authorisations, including applications relating to complex or sensitive transactions.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Monitor compliance with UK export licences, HMRC</p>

<h5 class="fw-bold text-success mt-4 mb-3">requirements and relevant UK and overseas licence conditions.</h5>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Support Project teams with Export Control and Trade Compliance</p>

<h5 class="fw-bold text-success mt-4 mb-3">requirements relating to equipment, technology and controlled data.</h5>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Maintain knowledge of UK and EU export controls, including F680s, Rating Enquiries, SIELs, OIELs, OGELs and SPIRE/LITE administration.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Apply working knowledge of US ITAR and EAR</p>

<h5 class="fw-bold text-success mt-4 mb-3">requirements, including ECCN identification, DDTC registrations, licence applications and Technology Transfer Agreements.</h5>

<h5 class="fw-bold text-success mt-4 mb-3">Manage End-User Undertakings, sanctions requirements and denied-party screening, including the investigation and adjudication of potential screening matches.</h5>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Conduct internal trade compliance assessments and support internal and external audits.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Draft compliance reports and voluntary disclosures for review and approval by the senior Legal and Compliance function.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Liaise with regulatory and government bodies, including ECJU, HMRC, the Ministry of Defence and HM Treasury.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Deliver Trade Compliance and Export Control training to colleagues across the organisation.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Work with Operations and Finance to ensure transactions comply with customs, tariff and reporting</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Identify the appropriate HS and internal classification codes for goods and support the effective use of the company ERP system.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Proven experience within Trade Compliance, Export Control or a closely related discipline.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Detailed knowledge of UK export licensing and trade controls.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Good understanding of UK and EU customs regulations, import and export procedures and international shipping practices.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Familiarity with US ITAR and EAR regulations and relevant overseas import and export controls.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Experience with export control</p>

<h5 class="fw-bold text-success mt-4 mb-3">requirements such as F680s, SIELs, OIELs, OGELs, TAAs and US licence applications.</h5>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Previous experience within defence, aerospace, advanced engineering or another highly regulated sector.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to advise and influence stakeholders at all levels.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Experience preparing for and supporting compliance audits and assessments.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Strong analytical, administrative and problem-solving skills.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ability to deliver effective training and presentations.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">A high degree of integrity, accountability and attention to detail.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">A degree in law, finance, business management or a related subject would be preferred.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">A relevant international trade or export compliance qualification would be advantageous.</p>
