<p class="text-muted mb-3">About the role</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">As a Customs and Trade Compliance Executive, you'll play an important role in supporting our Customs and Trade Compliance team, helping to ensure our import and export operations run smoothly, efficiently and in compliance with relevant regulations.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">You'll take responsibility for international shipping documentation, customs compliance and logistics coordination across the UK and EU, working closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers and internal teams.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">This is a varied role where attention to detail, organisation and strong communication skills are essential. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to projects and develop your knowledge of customs, international trade and logistics.</p>

<h5 class="fw-bold text-success mt-4 mb-3">Key responsibilities</h5>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Manage import and export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading and certificates of origin.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Experience in a Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain environment.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ensure the correct customs and supplier documentation is in place to support timely imports.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Check supplier sales contracts and ensure information held on purchase orders and sales contracts is accurate and consistent.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Maintain accurate and up-to-date information within the ERP system.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Provide regular updates on delivery schedules and shipment progress.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Respond to sales and customer queries by obtaining information from suppliers and internal teams.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Maintain and update reports relating to incoming goods.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ensure compliance with UK customs regulations, international trade legislation and company policies.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers and suppliers to coordinate shipments.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Monitor shipments and proactively resolve delays, discrepancies and customs issues.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Maintain accurate, audit-ready records across internal systems.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Support customer queries relating to orders, shipments and deliveries.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Provide support and information relating to shipping methods, lead times and stock allocations.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Work with Finance on duties, VAT and shipping costs where required.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Track and report on logistics performance and shipping schedules.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Keep up to date with changes to customs regulations, trade legislation and international shipping procedures.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Support the Customs and Trade Compliance team with projects and continuous improvement initiatives.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">You'll ideally have:</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Experience in import/export administration or international logistics.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Knowledge of UK customs procedures and international shipping documentation.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Strong communication and customer service skills.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">The ability to work to deadlines while balancing day-to-day responsibilities with longer-term projects.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Good IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office packages.Desirable experience</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">It would be advantageous if you also have:</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Experience using HMRC customs processes or the Customs Declaration Service (CDS).</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Experience working with Incoterms and freight management.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">An understanding of customs procedures, including Customs Warehousing.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Knowledge of commodity codes, tariffs and wider trade compliance</p>
