STR/OT Assistant

An exciting opportunity is available for new part time position for those who are eager to develop their career and gain valuable experience in the Young People's Home Treatment Team as an STR Worker/OT assistant within the Brookside Acute Services.

The post holder will achieve this by:

Under supervision and guidance from a qualified Nurse or Occupational Therapist, the post holder will support the assessment, planning, and delivery of care to young people within groups and individually. The post holder will contribute to the development of the team and support their peers and the team lead. The post holder will support students and other staff within the team as required. They will have a commitment to collaborative working and actively supporting and liaising with other health and social professionals and agencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the assessment and treatment of a defined group of service users and carers with complex needs.
• Work as part of Brookside Nursing & Occupational Therapy team to provide care to young people
• Responsible for own work and actions.
• Carrying out and monitoring treatment programmes and therapeutic programme as directed.
• Forming part of an interdependent multi-disciplinary team helping to ensure that their input is integrated into the service user’s overall care & treatment plans.
• Promoting the recovery of service users and maintaining their independence.

Clinical Skills

• To assist the Nurses and Occupational Therapist in the assessment, interventions and reviews of service users.
• To undertake skilled technical/creative and specialised support work with service users in therapeutic activities to promote recovery and well -being.
