You will understand the needs of a diverse range of stakeholders and translate them into clear, actionable deliverables. The role also calls for an adaptable, solutions-focused approach to developing new processes and making effective use of tools that strengthen management oversight and provide portfolio managers with greater insight into portfolio positioning.

The role offers the chance to shape the team’s next phase of development, influence investment decision-making and build a best-in-class analytics and reporting capability within a growing investment function.

Principal Duties of the position, including but not limited to:

  • Lead daily and monthly performance measurement across portfolios, currencies and benchmarks, providing analysis at security, sector, country, manager, asset class, composite and total-fund level.
  • Deliver performance attribution analysis across asset classes, sectors, countries, regions, investment styles, individual securities and total funds, using appropriate factor-based models.
  • Lead, mentor and develop team members while building effective relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Conduct peer-group analysis and manager rankings using Morningstar.
  • Use portfolio-construction tools to assess the risk and return implications of asset-allocation and manager-selection scenarios and identify optimal outcomes.
  • Produce and oversee ex-ante and ex-post risk reporting.
  • Deliver environmental, social and governance (ESG) risk analytics and insights.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to mentor, develop and motivate a high-performing team.
  • Excellent stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to understand varied business needs and translate them into clear, actionable deliverables.
  • Strong organisational and delivery skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams, prioritise effectively and ensure key milestones are achieved.
  • A solutions-focused and adaptable approach, with the confidence to develop new processes, enhance existing practices and make effective use of analytical tools.
  • Sound judgement and attention to detail, supporting robust investment oversight, effective governance and informed decision-making.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to build effective relationships across investment, risk and wider business teams.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and confidently to senior leadership and a diverse range of stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related discipline, with a CFA charter holder or progress towards CFA being an advantage.
  • 7 years’ + experience providing portfolio analysis & support directly to front office Investment teams, preferably at an asset manager.
  • Proven experience managing and developing a high-performing team.
  • Strong knowledge of financial markets and experience with portfolio construction.
  • Demonstrable experience of asset allocation, performance measurement & attribution and risk analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of equities, fixed income and mutual fund investments.
