Duffel , a travel technology company backed by top-tier investors and born out of Y Combinator, is hiring a Legal Counsel (Commercial) to join its in-house legal team in London. Reporting to the Head of Legal & Compliance, the successful candidate will serve as the second in-house legal employee, working at the intersection of technology and travel.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• PQE: 2–4 years Post Qualification Experience (PQE).
• Qualifications: English law qualified solicitor holding an SRA practising certificate.
• Domain Expertise: Experience in commercial contracts, particularly within the tech industry, along with a solid understanding of data protection (GDPR).

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on a diverse range of commercial agreements.
• Supporting and advising on data protection and GDPR compliance.
• Partnering with the People team on employment-related legal matters.
• Developing practical legal guidance, maintaining efficient processes, and researching regulatory developments.
• Acting as a trusted advisor to multiple internal stakeholders and assessing business operational risks.
