HVAC Design/Estimator

Hays is recruiting for an HVAC Design & Estimator to support projects from enquiry through handover. You will prepare competitive estimates and tender submissions while designing HVAC systems and related plant. You’ll review drawings, specifications, and client needs, and liaise with clients, suppliers, and delivery teams to ensure successful outcomes. The role involves site surveys, value engineering, and ongoing technical support across the project lifecycle. • Prepare detailed quotations, cost plans, and tender submissions
• Design HVAC systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning and associated plant
• Produce equipment schedules, technical specifications, and design calculations
• Review drawings, specifications, and client requirements
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Conduct site surveys and attend client meetings as required
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions
• Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle

• Experience in HVAC, mechanical building services, or M&E contracting
• Experience in estimating, design, or a combined design-and-build position
• Strong understanding of commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Good commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills with clients, suppliers, and internal teams
• Full UK driving licence
