Job Description

Coventry Public Schools is seeking to hire a Long Term substitute 7 hr/day Building Paraprofessional at Coventry Public Schools.

Must hold a Teacher Assistant Certification and have passed a praxis exam OR have a teacher Assistant certification and Associates OR at least an Associates degree in education.

This is a union contracted 180 day position with compensation according to contract.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working in a comparable position preferred.
• Certified in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI); if successful applicant is not currently CPI certified, training will be provided

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Experience with children who have emotional behavioral concerns preferred.
• Experience with de-escalation preferred.
• Ability to assist in transitioning students into the general education setting.
• Ability to collect and monitor data as part of a behavior plan.
• Ability to work with a diverse team of teachers.
• Ability to work in an environment with children who may have emotional and physical outbursts.

Rate of Pay: $19.40 Step 1 pay
