Associate - Financial & Professional Risks - 2+ PQE - Cardiff

Join a market-leading defendant professional negligence practice in Cardiff as an Associate in the Financial & Professional Risks team. You will advise insurers, brokers and policyholders on complex professional indemnity and coverage matters across high-profile sectors. The role blends technical litigation work with strategic client reporting and business development support. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver cost-effective, results-driven solutions to challenging claims.

• Handle complex professional indemnity, D&O, FI and coverage matters
• Advise on scope of duty, breach, causation, quantum and policy liability
• Provide insurer-aligned reporting, reserving, case planning and strategy
• Apply Civil Procedure Rules knowledge (costs management, Part 36, disclosures, expert instructions)
• Keep abreast of civil procedure reforms and pilot schemes (Online Court, Fixed Recoverable Costs, Disclosure Pilot)
• Deliver ADR, expert determinations, arbitration and negotiation to resolve claims
• Cultivate relationships with policyholders, insurers, brokers and Counsel
• Develop understanding of the professional indemnity insurance market
• Support team marketing and business development initiatives
