Automotive Bodywork Specialist

Job title: Automotive Bodywork Specialist

Location: Daventry, Northamptonshire

Salary: Approx. £36,075 to £37,050 per year | Days

Headline:

Imagine spending your working week on Porsches, Ferraris and race cars, repairing parts that can’t be replaced.

The role and

about you

If cars are more than a job to you, and you get real satisfaction from getting every detail right,

this is a bodyshop that works the way you do.

You’ll work on specialist, high-end and motorsport vehicles, from Porsche, Ferrari and Lotus to race cars, replicas and restoration projects. These are the cars most bodyshop technicians only ever see at shows.

Day to day, you’ll:

Repair fibreglass and carbon fibre

Work with aluminium, steel and plastic bodywork

Carry out filler and primer work

Prepare and mask panels

Repair damaged or hard-to-replace parts instead of simply swapping them

Prepare vehicles and components for high-quality refinishing

Some projects will really test your craft. When a classic or race car needs a panel that simply doesn’t exist, you’ll repair, reshape and prepare the original to the highest standard. That’s the kind of work people remember.

This is genuine body repair and restoration, not a vehicle fitting role.

You’ll be a great fit if you:

Have proper body repair experience and a good eye for detail

Are confident working with different materials

Love cars and want to keep developing your skills

What’s in it for you

Cars you won’t see in a normal bodyshop: your work stays interesting and varied

Top-level motorsport exposure: the company’s finishing work reaches the highest levels of racing, so you’ll be around standards that sharpen your own

Hard-to-replace parts: you’ll build rare repair and reshaping skills that stand out in the trade

Days: a regular daytime pattern

Pride in the finish: your attention to detail is what the job is built on

The company

You’ll be joining a Daventry company with over 50 years’ experience, trusted with specialist, high-end and motorsport vehicles. Their finishing work spans Formula 1, Formula 3, touring cars and GT racing, so you’ll learn from people who have worked to the most demanding standards in the sport. With work ranging from one-off projects to high-volume jobs, no two weeks look the same.
