Prepare and cook nutritious, well-balanced meals for residents in accordance with agreed menus and dietary requirements.
Cater for residents with specific dietary needs, including allergies, food intolerances, soft/pured diets and other special requirements.
Follow food safety, hygiene and allergen-control procedures at all times.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen and food preparation areas.
Ensure food is prepared, cooked, stored and served at appropriate temperatures.
Follow portion-control and presentation standards.
Check food stock levels and report shortages or required supplies to the relevant manager.
Minimise food waste while maintaining appropriate food quality and portion sizes.
Keep accurate records, including temperature checks, cleaning schedules and other required food-safety documentation.
Work closely with care-home staff to understand residents' preferences and dietary requirements.
Comply with the care home's policies, procedures and relevant UK food-safety regulations.
Support the kitchen team with general food preparation, cleaning and organisation when required
