An established and reputable independent accountancy practice based on the outskirts of Chelmsford is looking to recruit an Accounts Semi-Senior to support the firm’s continued growth.

/n

This role offers a great opportunity to work closely with a varied and interesting portfolio of both SME and larger corporate businesses as well as to gain audit experience if this is something of interest.

/n

The Role

/n

Working as part of a close-knit team, you will take responsibility for assisting with, and in some cases managing, a portfolio of clients, delivering a broad range of compliance and accounting services.

/n

Key responsibilities will include:

/n

/n - Preparation of year-end statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies (FRS 102 Section 1A) /n - Drafting corporation tax computations and CT600s for review and submission /n - Supporting with monthly and quarterly management accounts /n - Completion and submission of quarterly VAT returns /n - Supporting bookkeeping requirements using cloud-based accounting software such as XERO, Quickbooks and Sage /n - Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and support their ongoing business needs /n - Building trusted, professional relationships and acting as a key point of contact /n

About You

/n

/n - 2+ years’ experience working within a UK accountancy practice as either a Semi-Senior or Junior Accountant /n - AAT qualified, studying or part-qualified (ACCA) - QBE applications also considered /n - Have experience working with a varied SME client portfolio /n - Be confident communicating directly with clients /n - Be well organised, detail-oriented, and keen to progress your career within practice /n
