An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Employee Relations Specialist to join a leading global business services organisation in Birmingham.

Working within a fast-paced and collaborative HR environment, you will manage a varied employee relations caseload, providing practical advice and guidance to managers on a range of complex ER matters.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ER professional who enjoys managing cases from initial advice through to resolution, coaching and influencing managers, and building strong relationships with key stakeholders.

What you will be doing

  • Manage a varied ER caseload including long-term sickness, disciplinary, grievance, capability, redundancy and other complex employee relations matters.
  • Provide practical and commercially focused advice to managers on ER issues.
  • Gather and review relevant information to ensure appropriate advice is provided for each case.
  • Coach, guide and influence managers through employee relations processes and decision-making.
  • Support with drafting ER correspondence, including allegations and outcome letters.
  • Review case evidence, notes and procedural documentation.
  • Identify and escalate high-risk cases, trends and potential management capability issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of ER cases using HR and case management systems.
  • Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders and provide a high-quality customer experience.
  • Manage cases effectively against agreed SLAs and deadlines.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across team processes and ways of working.

What we are looking for

  • At least 2 years' experience advising and supporting managers on complex employee relations matters.
  • Strong understanding of employment law and its practical application.
  • Experience managing a varied ER caseload.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and influencing skills.
  • Confidence interacting with stakeholders across different levels of management.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • A customer-focused approach with the ability to build credibility and strong working relationships.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results within deadlines.
  • Good written communication and IT skills.

Experience working with high-volume ER casework and challenging SLAs/KPIs would be an advantage.

What you will get

  • Hybrid working.
  • Competitive salary and bonus.
  • 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Pension scheme.
  • The opportunity to gain broad ER exposure within a global organisation.

If you're an experienced Employee Relations professional looking for your next challenge in a dynamic and supportive environment, we'd love to hear from you.
