Forklift and Warehouse Operative

Tennial Personnel are currently recruiting for a reliable and experienced Counterbalance, Reach and Flexi Forklift Driver to join our client’s team at a warehouse based in Hadleigh. This position is offered on a temporary-to-permanent basis, with the opportunity to become permanent following 12 successful working weeks, subject to business requirements. The role operates Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

The role will involve operating counterbalance, reach and flexi forklifts to support the movement, storage and organisation of stock within a busy warehouse environment. Alongside forklift driving, the successful candidate will be responsible for general warehouse duties, including packing orders, preparing goods for dispatch, loading and unloading deliveries and maintaining accurate stock movements.

This is a hands-on position that will also involve manual handling and supporting the wider warehouse team as required.

The successful candidate must have experience operating forklifts safely and efficiently, ideally holding valid licences for counterbalance, reach and flexi trucks. Candidates must be comfortable balancing forklift duties with practical warehouse work, including packing, lifting and handling goods. Reliability, good attention to detail and a strong commitment to health and safety are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Operating counterbalance, reach and flexi forklifts safely and efficiently within the warehouse.

Loading and unloading incoming and outgoing deliveries.

Moving, storing and retrieving stock from designated warehouse locations.

Picking, packing and preparing orders for dispatch in line with customer

requirements.

Carrying out manual handling and general warehouse duties as required.

Checking goods for accuracy, quality and any visible damage before dispatch.

Ensuring stock is stored correctly and warehouse locations remain organised.

Assisting with stock replenishment and internal stock movements.

Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment.

Following all company health and safety procedures and safe forklift operating practices.

Reporting damaged goods, stock discrepancies, equipment faults or potential hazards.

Working collaboratively with colleagues to meet daily warehouse and dispatch

requirements.

Supporting the wider team with additional duties as required.

Skills Required

Previous experience working within a warehouse or distribution environment.

Experience operating counterbalance, reach and flexi forklifts.

Valid and relevant forklift licences or recognised operator training for the trucks required.

Good understanding of warehouse processes, stock movements and safe loading procedures.

Ability to undertake packing, manual handling and other general warehouse duties.

Good attention to detail when checking, handling and preparing goods.

Reliable, punctual and committed to maintaining good attendance.

Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.

Strong awareness of health and safety procedures and safe working practices.

Qualifications Required

Relevant forklift licences or recognised training for counterbalance, reach and flexi trucks are required.

Previous warehouse, packing and manual handling experience would be advantageous.

Knowledge of stock control, order preparation and dispatch procedures would be beneficial.

Relevant health and safety or manual handling training would be an advantage.
