About the Role

We are currently seeking a specialist GCSE Maths and English Tutor in the Wingate area to support a student with an EHCP and SEMH needs who requires additional support outside of a traditional classroom setting..

Key Responsibilities

Deliver tailored one-to-one GCSE Maths and English tutoring sessions to a student with an EHCP and SEMH needs.

Plan and adapt lessons to address gaps in mathematical knowledge, literacy, reading comprehension, spelling, and writing.

Support progression towards GCSE Maths and English qualifications, including developing subject knowledge and examination skills where appropriate.

Use engaging, flexible teaching strategies to encourage participation, motivation, and confidence.

Support the student with emotional regulation and engagement through positive reinforcement and a consistent approach.

Create a calm, structured, and encouraging learning environment that meets the student's individual needs.

Monitor and record progress, attendance, engagement, and learning outcomes.

Work towards appropriate educational targets, taking account of the student's EHCP and individual learning needs.

Provide regular feedback to parents, carers, and the Prospero Teaching team.Role Details

Pay rate: Up to £30 per hour (dependent on experience and qualifications).

Start date: ASAP.

Location: Wingate.

Hours: 5 hours per week.

Delivery: In person.

Previous experience supporting young people with SEN or SEMH needs.

Experience delivering GCSE Maths and English tuition or supporting students working towards GCSE qualifications.

Understanding of EHCPs and the ability to adapt teaching to individual educational needs.

Strong subject knowledge in Maths and English, with the ability to tailor lessons to the student's current abilities.

A patient, flexible, and nurturing approach to supporting students with barriers to learning.

Right to work in the UK.
