SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT

Location: Ashford, Kent

Start Date: ASAP

Setting: SEN School

Contract: Full-time

We are currently looking for a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Ashford, starting as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will be supporting pupils across KS1 and/or KS2, helping them to access learning, develop their confidence and independence, and thrive within the school environment.

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous SEN experience, ideally within a school setting

Relevant experience and/or qualifications in education, childcare or SEN

Strong behaviour management skills

Excellent communication skills

A calm, patient and nurturing approach

Confidence supporting pupils with a range of additional needs

The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

Flexibility to work across KS1 and/or KS2

A positive and adaptable approach to supporting pupils with different needs

Driving is preferred, although candidates who can reliably travel to the school by public transport will be considered

Safeguarding

Requirements

An enhanced DBS is required

Candidates with a suitable DBS already in place are welcome to apply

If you do not currently have a DBS, you must be willing to apply for a new enhanced DBS

References and safeguarding checks will be completed as part of the recruitment process
