HGV Class 1 Driver - Burton upon Trent

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Burton upon Trent. You will be working in Burton Upon Trent.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, consistent Monday to Friday work, and long-term opportunities for the right candidates.

There is also an incentive bonus of up to £550 available during the forthcoming peak period.

This would suit applicants who have worked as an HGV/LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver, Articulated Lorry Driver or Tramper Driver.

Rates of Pay:

• £22.25 per hour (Midnight - 11:59am)
• £24.25 per hour (12:00pm - 11:59pm)
• £26.85 per hour (Saturdays)
• £28.25 per hour (Sundays and Bank Holidays)

Shift Pattern:

• Monday to Friday
• Day and Night shifts available
• AM start times between 01:00 and 04:00
• PM start times between 17:00 and 19:00

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as an HGV Class 1 Driver are:

• Safely operating Category C+E vehicles, predominantly double-decker trailers
• Completing store deliveries and collections
• Handling palletised goods and cages
• Carrying out night deliveries using the air lock process where required
• Making timely deliveries to various destinations
• Communicating effectively with the transport team
• Adhering to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations
• Ensuring full compliance with driving laws and Working Time Directive regulations
• Completing all relevant paperwork and vehicle checks

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver , you will need:

• A valid UK Category CE driving licence
• A valid CPC qualification card
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• A minimum of two years' continuous Class 1 driving experience
• No more than six penalty points for minor infringements
• No major endorsement codes
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• A professional and reliable attitude
• A strong understanding of driver hours and Working Time Directive regulations

Training:

• Driving assessment required prior to start
• Full industry-related training provided
