HGV Class 1 Shunters

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Shifts: 6pm-6am OR 6am-6pm, working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Location: Barnsley, s74</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Job Type: Ongoing position.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Pay rates:</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Days: Week day £17.21, Saturday £18.87, Sunday £19.20</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Nights: Week nights £18.59, Saturday £21.69, Sunday, £22.96</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">The role:</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">· Perform non-stop shunting of trailers within the yard to ensure efficient operations, averaging 150 shunts a shift.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">· Safely manoeuvre vehicles in tight and busy spaces.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">· Conduct pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections to ensure safety and reliability.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">· Adhere to all health and safety regulations and procedures.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">· Coordinate with the yard and dispatch teams to maintain seamless workflow.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">· Report any defects or issues promptly to the maintenance team.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">· Maintain accurate records of shunting activities and vehicle movements.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">· Assist with other yard duties as needed.</p>

<h5 class="fw-bold text-success mt-4 mb-3">Requirements</h5>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">· Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">· Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">· No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">· Successful completion of assessment, including theory element which is two questionnaires based on drivers' hours and road laws and a practical element which will be based on yard reversing and a short driving test.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">· Full understanding of WTD legislation.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">· Excellent communication skills.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">· A safety-first mindset.</p>
