<p class="text-muted mb-3">CLASS 2 SKIP DRIVER – PORTSMOUTH / FAREHAM / SOUTHAMPTON</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">SRG Recruitment are looking to recruit experienced and professional Class 2 Skip Drivers / LGV Drivers for our clients based at our Portsmouth, Fareham and Southampton sites.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">This is a great opportunity for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver who is looking for a varied driving role within the waste management, recycling and logistics industry.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">The role of LGV / Class 2 Skip Driver involves:</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Collecting and delivering skips to and from customers, businesses and commercial sites.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Carrying out skip collections and exchanges safely and efficiently.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Delivering and collecting empty and full skips.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Loading and unloading skips using skip loader equipment.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Operating skip loader / hook lift equipment where required.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Securing loads correctly and ensuring all loads are transported safely.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ensuring vehicles are kept clean, safe and roadworthy.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Delivering waste to designated waste transfer stations, recycling centres and landfill sites as directed by the Traffic Office.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Following assigned delivery and collection routes.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Completing multiple collections and deliveries throughout the working day.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Liaising with customers and site staff during collections and deliveries.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Providing excellent customer service at all times.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Completing delivery notes, collection paperwork and electronic records.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Using a PDA / handheld device to record collections and deliveries.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Following all relevant waste, transport and environmental regulations.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with Health & Safety procedures.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Reporting any issues, delays, incidents or vehicle defects to the relevant team.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Working closely with the Transport and Traffic Office to ensure efficient daily operations.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">THE IDEAL LGV / CLASS 2 DRIVER</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Previous experience as an HGV Class 2 / LGV Driver.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Previous skip driving, waste collection or waste management experience is highly desirable.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Experience operating skip loader equipment would be advantageous.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Experience with multi-drop deliveries and collections.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Full Class 2 / LGV driving licence.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Full Driver CPC qualification.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Valid Digital Tachograph Driver Card.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Good knowledge and understanding of Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive (WTD) regulations.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Good geographical knowledge of Portsmouth, Fareham, Southampton and surrounding areas.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Reliable, flexible and adaptable.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Hardworking and conscientious.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Professional and responsible approach to driving.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Polite, courteous and attentive when dealing with customers.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Good timekeeping and organisational skills.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ability to work independently and as part of a busy transport team.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Good awareness of road safety and vehicle safety.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ability to complete daily vehicle checks and maintain high safety standards.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Comfortable using a PDA and other electronic delivery systems.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Good understanding of safe loading, unloading and load security.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Clean driving licence preferred, although previous driving experience will be considered.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">The role can involve regular driving, multiple collections and deliveries, customer interaction and working across a variety of commercial and waste sites.</p>
