HGV Refuse Driver

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Thrive Group Oldham are seeking HGV Refuse Drivers to work for the local authority in and around the Oldham area.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">12 months experience required</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">You will be based from their Oldham depot and required to drive around the Oldham Borough with a team.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">You will be required to provide, in a safe and effective manner, quality and efficient Refuse Collection Service including all recycling collection activities, in all weather conditions.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Rate of pay: £15.29 per hour</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Hours: 7.00am - 5.00pm. Monday - Friday</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Location: Oldham and all surrounding areas</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Purpose of the job</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">You will be required to provide, in a safe and effective manner, quality and efficient Refuse Collection Service including all recycling collection activities, in all weather conditions.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">The type of driving is very different to many other driving roles. This is stop-start driving, where you must be very aware of your surroundings, as working often in tight spaces/areas.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">You will be required to manoeuvre the vehicle around other parked vehicles safely and cautiously, being aware of pedestrians and members of the public.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Duties to include but not limited to:</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Undertaking vehicle checks each morning and reporting any defects.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Operating the power mechanism.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Supervising duties and responsible for the crew.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Working as part of a team.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ensuring that the highest level of customer care is maintained.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Must hold a Class 2 HGV Licence (CAT C) a CPC and Digi-Tacho</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Knowledge of the current transport regulations</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ability to demonstrate the highest level of professionalism</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Polite and friendly manner at all times</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ability to drive in all weather conditions</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Lead by example</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Previous Waste/Refuse experience preferred, but not essential - Training will be provided on the job</p>
