HGV Technician

We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented HGV Technician to join us! As a HGV Technician at Veolia no two days are the same, with multiple types of vehicles within our fleet.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">This hands-on role is pivotal in ensuring we can continue to deliver our service across the UK. Your role involves maintaining and repairing refuse collection vehicles to the highest standards, ensuring safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction every step of the way.</p>

<h5 class="fw-bold text-success mt-4 mb-3">Key Responsibilities</h5>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on chassis and mounted equipment</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Service vehicles to VOSA standards and prepare them for MOT inspections</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Complete body and chassis repairs and ensure compliance with Department of Transport specifications</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Maintain accurate records, complete necessary paperwork and time sheets</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic vehicle systems</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ensure all work is completed efficiently and to company standards</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Follow health and safety procedures and be responsible for your safety and those around you</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Complete roadside repairs when necessary (training to be provided)</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Undertake training to enhance technical skills and knowledgeWhat we're looking for:</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Proven experience in commercial vehicle repair and servicing</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Understanding of electronics, hydraulics, and wiring diagrams</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Excellent communication</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ability to work independently and manage time effectively</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Awareness and understanding of health and safety</p>
