<p class="text-muted mb-3">The Role We are looking for an experienced and motivated HGV Workshop Assistant Manager to support the day-to-day running of a busy commercial vehicle workshop.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV Technician, Workshop Supervisor or Team Leader looking to take the next step into workshop management. You will support the Workshop Manager in ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely and to a high standard while helping to lead and develop the workshop team.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">The successful candidate will have a strong HGV mechanical background, excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage workloads and priorities within a fast-paced workshop environment.</p>

<h5 class="fw-bold text-success mt-4 mb-3">Key Responsibilities</h5>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Support the Workshop Manager with the day-to-day operation of the HGV workshop.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Assist with organising, planning and allocating work to HGV Technicians.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Monitor workshop productivity, quality and job completion.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Provide technical support and guidance to technicians where required.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Carry out HGV servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs when necessary.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer, company and legal standards.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Monitor vehicle inspections, PMIs, MOT preparation and defect rectification.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Help manage workshop efficiency and ensure vehicles are returned to service promptly.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Support the management and development of technicians and apprentices.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Assist with performance management, training and mentoring of workshop staff.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ensure accurate completion of job cards and workshop documentation.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Monitor parts</p>

<h5 class="fw-bold text-success mt-4 mb-3">requirements and work closely with the Parts Department.</h5>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Support workshop scheduling and prioritise urgent repairs and breakdowns.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ensure high standards of housekeeping, health and safety and compliance.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Liaise with customers, drivers and other departments where required.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Deputise for the Workshop Manager during periods of absence.Candidate</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Previous experience as an HGV Technician is essential.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Experience working on commercial vehicles, including servicing, repairs and diagnostics.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Previous supervisory, team leader or workshop management experience would be advantageous.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Strong technical knowledge of HGV mechanical and electrical systems.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Experience with PMIs, MOT preparation and vehicle compliance.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Excellent organisational and workload management skills.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ability to lead, motivate and support a team.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Strong communication and customer service skills.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ability to make decisions and prioritise effectively under pressure.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Good understanding of workshop health and safety procedures.Qualifications & Desirable Experience</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair preferred.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence would be advantageous but not essential.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">IRTEC accreditation would be beneficial.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Experience using workshop management or fleet maintenance systems.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Manufacturer training would be advantageous.What's on Offer</p>
