Logistics Coordinator - International Shipping

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Are you an experienced Logistics Coordinator who enjoys taking ownership of international shipments from start to finish?</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">This is an opportunity to take responsibility for the global movement of products for an established and growing family-run business, coordinating shipments across the UK, Europe and the United States.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">You'll manage the process from factory or supplier collection through to final delivery, working with freight forwarders, carriers, customs agents and internal teams to make sure goods arrive on time, cost-effectively and with the correct documentation in place.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">The role will initially be based in Kingsbridge before relocating to Plymouth, so applicants must be comfortable working from both locations, with subsidised travel in the transition period dependent on location. </p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Take ownership of the end-to-end international logistics process, from collection through to final delivery</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Coordinate worldwide shipments via sea, air, road and courier</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Obtain and compare freight costs and select the appropriate shipping method based on cost, lead time and</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Liaise with production and project teams to ensure goods are ready for collection and shipping within agreed timescales</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Prepare packing lists and commercial invoices and apply for Certificates of Origin</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Track shipments closely and provide accurate updates on expected arrival dates</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Identify and resolve potential delays, shipping issues and documentation problems</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Manage relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, customs agents and other logistics partners</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ensure shipping documentation is accurate and logistics activity complies with relevant customs, import and export</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">To be considered for this role, you'll need:</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">A minimum of 3 years' proven international logistics experience</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Experience with sea freight, containerised shipments, air freight and road freight</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Experience working with freight forwarders</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Knowledge of international customs procedures, commodity codes, Incoterms, VAT and import duties</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Confidence obtaining, comparing and negotiating freight costs and service options</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Excellent attention to detail and accuracy</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Strong communication and relationship-management skills</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Experience using logistics, ERP, purchasing or stock-management systems</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Good Microsoft Office skills</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Flexibility to communicate with international suppliers and logistics providers across different time zones when required Salary & Benefits</p>
