MOT Technician

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester to join a well-established main dealership in Newbury.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced motor trade professionals to develop their careers within a reputable dealership environment. The successful Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester will be responsible for delivering high-quality service, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining operational efficiency.

Competitive basic salary up to £35,000

Uncapped bonus earning potential exceeding £50,000 OTE

Monday to Friday working hours

Saturday mornings on a rota basis (1 in 4 Saturdays)

Varied workload including PDI, servicing, and MOT work

No heavy diagnostics, engine rebuilds, or clutch work

Supportive team environment with a focus on quality serviceDuties:

Conducting service checks and repairs efficiently

Performing MOT testing in compliance with regulations

Undertaking diagnostics to identify vehicle issues

Carrying out Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) and routine servicing

Maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service

Ensuring the dealership’s professional image and quality standards are upheld

Assisting with general workshop duties as required

Requirements

NVQ Level 3 in Automotive Servicing and Repair or equivalent

Full UK driving licence

Valid MOT licence advantageous

Experience within dealer, independent garage, or fast-fit environments

Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Ability to work effectively within a team

Service-oriented mindset with attention to detailindividuals must reside in or near the Newbury area or be willing to commute. A proactive approach, high work standards, and a customer-focused attitude are essential for this Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester position. Franchise experience is desirable but not essential.
