Production Controller salary: £35,250 – £39,250

Production Controller Overview:

✅ Manage customer orders from receipt through to finished product delivery

✅ Keep production schedules, run lists and capacity plans accurate and up to date

This Production Controller role is with an established precision engineering business in Poole, supporting customer orders through a busy manufacturing environment. The Production Controller will sit between customers and production, making sure

requirements are understood, schedules are accurate and orders continue moving through the machine shop against agreed delivery dates.

This Production Controller position needs someone who is organised, confident dealing with customers and comfortable working closely with engineering and production teams in a fast-paced environment.

The Production Controller role

As Production Controller, you’ll take ownership of a portfolio of customer orders from receipt through to final delivery. You’ll maintain accurate production information, monitor progress against schedules and identify potential delays early enough to take action.

The Production Controller will also attend production meetings, work closely with the machine shop and provide customers with clear updates on order status and delivery performance.

Day-to-day responsibilities of a Production Controller

Manage and expedite customer orders from receipt through to finished product delivery

Liaise with customers regarding order status, priorities and delivery dates

Maintain accurate sales and production information for assigned customer accounts

Enter production

requirements onto run lists and capacity planning schedules

Monitor order progress and highlight potential delivery risks or delays

Work closely with engineers and machine shop teams to keep work moving

Attend production meetings and provide clear updates on customer

requirements

Prepare accurate information for weekly sales and production reviews

Manage competing priorities across multiple customer orders

Take ownership of on-time delivery performance for assigned accountsWhat they’re looking for - Production Controller

Experience in production control, production planning, order management or a similar manufacturing role

Previous customer-facing experience is essential

Comfortable working closely with engineers and machine shop teams

Strong organisation and attention to detail

Able to manage multiple orders, priorities and changing deadlines

Confident communicating delivery updates and resolving customer queries

Comfortable working with production schedules, capacity information and order data

Able to remain calm and organised in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentDesirable - Production Controller

Precision engineering or CNC machine shop experience

Background in aerospace, defence or another regulated manufacturing environment

Experience with ERP/MRP or production planning systems

Knowledge of capacity planning and production scheduling

Experience monitoring OTD or similar manufacturing KPIs
