Quality Inspection Operative

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Role: Mechanical Engineering Quality Inspector</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Salary: Dependant on skill and experience</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday-Thursday 8.00am-4.30pm, Friday 8.00am-1.00pm. Overtime often available.</p>

<h5 class="fw-bold text-success mt-4 mb-3">Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Engineering Quality Inspector</h5>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Inspect, confirm and authorise incoming materials and returns from outsourced suppliers.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Approve in-process production and validate first-off measurements.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Maintain and calibrate metrology gauges and equipment in line with ISO 9001</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Document all inspection results on the company's internal systems.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Raise and investigate NCRs, implementing corrective and preventative measures.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Present KPI statistics for monthly review.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Liaise with customers and suppliers, including conducting audits where required.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Maintain ISO 9001 accreditation as it relates to production.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Support the production team in striving for 100% quality.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the quality system.</p>

<h5 class="fw-bold text-success mt-4 mb-3">About you</h5>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ideally, you will have a mechanical engineering background gained within a manufacturing environment.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Able to interpret engineering drawings and support production improvement initiatives.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Experience using a wide range of measurement equipment and programmable CMM.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Able to demonstrate and pass on your skills and experience in quality inspection.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Fully familiar with, and experienced in working within, an ISO 9001 environment.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">A strong team player with the people skills required to develop and improve the quality culture of the business.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Flexible and able to support other departments where required.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">A continuous improvement focuses with a disciplined and hands-on approach to dimensional inspection.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">The role offers the opportunity to progress towards a full ISO 9001 Quality Management position, as well as ancillary roles such as Health & Safety.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will work closely with the production team to strive for 100% quality.</p>
