Refuse Class 2 Driver

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Working as a Refuse & Recycling Chargehand (HGV Driver),</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">you will be responsible for both driving Class 2 vehicles (Category C) and supervising a team of loaders to deliver efficient waste and recycling services.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">This is a hands-on role involving driving, loading, and team supervision within a public-facing environment.</p>

<h5 class="fw-bold text-success mt-4 mb-3">Key Responsibilities</h5>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Drive HGV Class 2 / Category C vehicles on refuse and recycling routes</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Supervise and lead waste collection operatives / loaders</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Carry out domestic waste collection, trade waste collection, and recycling collections</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, DVSA, and highway regulations</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Complete daily vehicle checks, tachograph compliance, and route paperwork</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Collect general waste, recycling, garden waste, bulky items, and commercial waste</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Maintain a high level of customer service and public interaction</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Assist with manual handling, loading, and operational duties as requiredEssential</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">HGV Class 2 Licence (Category C)</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Valid CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence)</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Digital Tachograph Card</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Experience in refuse collection / waste management / recycling / street cleansing</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Previous experience as HGV Driver, LGV Driver, Dustcart Driver, RCV Driver, Bin Lorry Driver</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ability to work in a physically demanding, outdoor role</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Strong understanding of Health & Safety and safe systems of work</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Good team leadership / supervisory skills</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Excellent time management and route planning awareness Desirable Skills</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Experience working within a Local Authority / Council environment</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Knowledge of environmental services and recycling processes</p>
