Environmental Services Assistant

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Environmental Services Assistant to join Sheffield City Council on an initial 3-month temporary contract.

This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

To complete basic written records and weekly timesheets. Ability to follow written instructions

Carrying out of organised visits and revisits as instructed to maximise the efficiency of the section

• Handling payments including cash and following correct financial procedures.
• Assist other officers in drainage investigations and assist in carrying out remedial work including the sealing of drains.
• To respond to environmental problems, including illegally dumped commercial, household garbage, animal carcasses and undertake clearance as directed.
• To undertake collection, loading and disposal of condemned foodstuffs as directed.
• To undertake clearance/ cleaning/ disinfection of noxious, verminous or contaminated articles and premises including faeces, sharps in both vacant properties and occupied as directed
• To drive Council and other vehicles and carry out routine daily vehicle checks in line with existing procedures including refuelling.

To undertake depot work, including cleaning and disinfection as directed

Essential

Requirements

Experience working as an environmental services assistant

Full Uk driving licence
