Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support secondary schools across the Wirral.

About the Role:

We are seeking experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to provide targeted support to students with a range of additional needs. You'll work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to provide 1:1 and small-group support, helping students access the curriculum and thrive within the school environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEND
• Support students to access the curriculum and participate in lessons
• Assist students with communication, emotional regulation, and social development
• Implement individual support strategies and learning interventions
• Support students with EHCPs and individual learning plans
• Promote independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff
• Monitor and communicate student progress and wellbeing

What We're Looking For:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND
• A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs
• Strong communication, patience, and empathy
• A calm and consistent approach to behaviour and learning support
• Ability to build positive relationships with students
• A proactive and adaptable approach
• A valid enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one)

Desirable (but not essential):

• Previous experience working within a secondary school
• Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification
• Experience supporting students with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or communication needs
• Knowledge of EHCPs and SEND support strategies
