Senior Driver

<p class="text-muted mb-3">We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Driver to join a busy wine distribution operation based in Thurrock.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">This is a hands-on role, combining team coordination, office-based responsibilities and multi-drop driving. The successful candidate will play an important part in ensuring the delivery operation starts smoothly each morning before heading out on a shorter delivery route themselves.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">The Role</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Starting at 05:30am, Monday to Friday,</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">you will begin the day in the office, helping to coordinate the driving team and ensuring all deliveries are ready to go.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Your responsibilities will include:</p>

<li class="d-flex align-items-start mb-2"><i class="mdi mdi-circle-medium text-success fs-15 me-2 mt-1"></i><span>Dealing with late or absent drivers and arranging suitable cover through agencies where required.</span></li>

<li class="d-flex align-items-start mb-2"><i class="mdi mdi-circle-medium text-success fs-15 me-2 mt-1"></i><span>Completing and updating emails, handovers and other operational communications.</span></li>

<li class="d-flex align-items-start mb-2"><i class="mdi mdi-circle-medium text-success fs-15 me-2 mt-1"></i><span>Liaising with the office and transport team to resolve any issues before drivers leave site.</span></li>

<li class="d-flex align-items-start mb-2"><i class="mdi mdi-circle-medium text-success fs-15 me-2 mt-1"></i><span>Ensuring drivers have the correct information and paperwork for their deliveries.</span></li>

<li class="d-flex align-items-start mb-2"><i class="mdi mdi-circle-medium text-success fs-15 me-2 mt-1"></i><span>Once the morning operation is organised, heading out on the road to complete your own shorter multi-drop delivery route.</span></li>

<li class="d-flex align-items-start mb-2"><i class="mdi mdi-circle-medium text-success fs-15 me-2 mt-1"></i><span>Delivering wine and other products safely and professionally to customer sites.</span></li>

<li class="d-flex align-items-start mb-2"><i class="mdi mdi-circle-medium text-success fs-15 me-2 mt-1"></i><span>Making deliveries to a variety of customers including hotel chains, restaurants, shops and other commercial customers.</span></li>

<li class="d-flex align-items-start mb-2"><i class="mdi mdi-circle-medium text-success fs-15 me-2 mt-1"></i><span>Providing excellent customer service at every delivery.</span></li>

<li class="d-flex align-items-start mb-2"><i class="mdi mdi-circle-medium text-success fs-15 me-2 mt-1"></i><span>Reporting any delivery, vehicle or customer issues to the appropriate team.</span></li>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">We are looking for someone who has previous experience in a team leader, senior driver, transport office or similar operational role.</p>

<li class="d-flex align-items-start mb-2"><i class="mdi mdi-circle-medium text-success fs-15 me-2 mt-1"></i><span>The ability to manage drivers and allocate work effectively.</span></li>

<li class="d-flex align-items-start mb-2"><i class="mdi mdi-circle-medium text-success fs-15 me-2 mt-1"></i><span>Confidence dealing with driver absences, lateness and last-minute changes.</span></li>

<li class="d-flex align-items-start mb-2"><i class="mdi mdi-circle-medium text-success fs-15 me-2 mt-1"></i><span>A professional and reliable approach to customer service.</span></li>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Monday to Friday</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">05:30am start 8-12 hr shift ( Average 10 hr days )</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidate.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Permanent salary is £31,000 + £3k worth of bonuses available.</p>
