Senior Procurement Specialist

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Summary:</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">We are looking for an experienced, commercially driven Procurement Specialist to take ownership of our supplier base across the UK, Far East and India.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">This is a hands-on role for someone who understands that procurement is about far more than placing orders.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">You will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, securing the right products at the right price, maintaining stock availability and continually looking for opportunities to improve margin, cost and supply performance. You will need to be a confident negotiator, commercially astute and comfortable working with suppliers across different international markets. Experience of sourcing and managing suppliers in India is essential, alongside experience dealing with UK and Far East suppliers.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Manage the full supplier relationship across UK, Far East and Indian suppliers.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Develop strong, professional relationships with key suppliers and negotiate effectively to achieve the best commercial outcomes.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Own purchasing decisions, ensuring the right products are sourced at the right quality, price and time.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Monitor and manage stock availability, lead times, minimum order quantities and supplier capacity.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Identify and mitigate potential supply issues before they impact the business.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Negotiate pricing, payment terms, rebates, freight costs and other commercial agreements.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Monitor supplier performance against cost, quality, delivery and service expectations.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Continually review the supplier base and identify new sourcing opportunities.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Work closely with sales, operations, finance and logistics to ensure procurement decisions support wider business objectives.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Analyse purchasing spend, margins, pricing and market conditions to identify opportunities for cost reduction and improved profitability.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Maintain a strong understanding of international sourcing, shipping, currency fluctuations, and the wider commercial factors affecting landed cost.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ensure purchasing is aligned with demand and stock</p>

<h5 class="fw-bold text-success mt-4 mb-3">requirements, avoiding both excess stock and stock shortages.</h5>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Challenge suppliers and internal stakeholders where appropriate, always looking for a better commercial outcome.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier records and provide regular updates on costs, availability, and supplier performance.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Key Skills/Experience:</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Proven experience in a procurement, purchasing or buying role.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Direct experience managing suppliers in India - essential.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Experience working with suppliers across the Far East and UK.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Strong supplier relationship management and negotiation skills.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">A proven track record of delivering cost savings and commercial improvements.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Excellent understanding of stock management, forecasting and availability.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of margin and landed cost.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">The confidence to negotiate firmly while maintaining productive long-term supplier relationships.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Excellent communication and organisational skills.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to see the bigger commercial picture.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">The ability to work independently, make decisions and take ownership.</p>
