Site Engineer

Force Contracting Services are looking for an experienced Site Engineer to join a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Kilmarnock.

The project is due to commence at the end of September 2026 and is expected to run for approximately 2 years.

The successful candidates will have a strong civil engineering background, relevant experience working on BESS sites, and experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects.

Scope of Works:

• Enabling works
• Site preparation
• Earthworks
• Drainage
• Access roads
• Hardstanding
• Equipment foundations
• Fencing foundations
• Ducting and trenching
• Reinstatement
• All associated civil works required to provide a complete and operational BESS site

Responsibilities:

• Setting out and surveying civil engineering works, including levels, coordinates and dimensional checks.
• Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications, providing technical support to the Site Manager and Project Manager.
• Working closely with subcontractors and site teams to monitor progress and ensure works are delivered to the required standards and tolerances.
• Maintaining site records, QA documentation and inspection records.
• Identifying technical issues and supporting the planning, sequencing and delivery of works.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Engineer on major civil engineering projects, with relevant experience working on BESS sites.
• Strong setting-out and surveying skills with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Good understanding of civil works including earthworks, drainage, roads, foundations and ducting.
• Relevant engineering qualification and CSCS.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
