<p class="text-muted mb-3">Salary: Up to £36,000 DOE</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Our client is an established and growing independent freight forwarding and logistics company based in Southampton, operating a busy transport operation across the UK.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">On behalf of our client, we are looking to recruit an experienced Transport Planner to join their transport team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating container and general haulage movements, working closely with customers, drivers, subcontractors and the wider operations team.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Transport Planner - Responsibilities:</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Plan and coordinate UK container and general haulage movements</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Plan and route company vehicles and subcontractors efficiently</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Input and maintain transport jobs on the company transport management system</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Liaise with customers, drivers and subcontractors to ensure transport</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Monitor vehicle movements and deal with any delays or operational issues</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Provide regular updates to customers and internal teams</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Obtain transport quotations and assist with pricing jobs</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ensure transport jobs are completed accurately and efficiently</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Work closely with the wider operations team to meet daily transport</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Previous experience within a UK transport planning or transport operations role</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Experience planning vehicles and coordinating transport movements</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Good understanding of UK geography and road networks</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Excellent communication and customer service skills</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Strong organisational skills with good attention to detail</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Ability to manage multiple jobs and changing priorities</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Confident making decisions in a busy operational environment</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Proactive approach with good problem-solving skills</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Previous experience with container haulage or port operations is essential</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Experience with VBS and UK port booking systems would be advantageous</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Knowledge of TOPS or a similar transport management system would be beneficial</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Understanding of Driver Hours Regulations and transport compliance would be advantageous</p>
