Turner Lovell are recruiting a Project Manager to join a globally recognised energy technology business, supporting the development and delivery of specialist subsea connector technology within its Components Engineering team in Ulverston.

The client is looking for an experienced Project Manager with an engineering or manufacturing background to take ownership of multiple product development projects, managing delivery from initial

requirements through to final handover. You will work closely with Engineers, Principal Engineers, Test Technicians, Procurement and external customers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Experience managing multiple smaller-to-medium-sized engineering projects is essential. This is not a major infrastructure project role; the successful candidate will typically manage 3-6 projects per year, with a combined portfolio value of approximately £1m.

Key duties

Lead and manage multiple engineering and product development projects from inception through to completion and handover.

Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, testing, manufacturing and procurement.

Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, resource plans and cost estimates.

Monitor project performance, ensuring delivery against agreed timescales, budgets, quality standards and scope.

Identify and mitigate technical, commercial and project delivery risks.

Manage project variations, change orders and contractual

requirements.

Liaise with customers and suppliers, acting as the main point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.

Support bid proposals, customer meetings and project presentations.

Manage project financial reporting, cost control and commercial performance.

Drive continuous improvement across project management and product development processes.

Requirements

Proven Project Management experience within an engineering, manufacturing or technical environment.

Experience managing product development, engineering development or manufacturing projects.

Strong understanding of project planning, budgeting, risk management and project controls.

Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, with ownership of cost, schedule, quality and delivery.

Good understanding of engineering processes and manufacturing operations.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working alongside technical teams, customers and suppliers.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; Microsoft Project experience is desirable.

Experience using ERP systems, particularly SAP, is advantageous.

Exposure to NEC contracts or similar commercial frameworks is desirable.

An engineering degree or relevant qualification would be beneficial but is not essential.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Siemens Energy and work on specialist subsea technology within a collaborative, engineering-led environment. With an initial 6-month contract and the potential for long-term extensions, this role offers genuine project ownership and the opportunity to manage a varied portfolio of technical development projects.
