Associate Director, Indirect Tax - M&A, Financial Investors

In this Associate Director role, you lead VAT input on high-value transaction work for Deloitte’s Financial Investors team, shaping advisory for private equity and real estate clients. You will drive end-to-end VAT strategies, manage deal-related VAT issues, and grow client relationships across the UK and Europe. You’ll lead client engagements, develop analysts, and help expand market opportunities with a collaborative, high-performing team. • Lead the VAT input on major transaction support engagements (buy-side, sell-side, carve-outs, restructurings)
• Provide end-to-end VAT advisory for clients and investee portfolios
• Advise on VAT recovery, fund structures, and day-to-day compliance for private capital businesses
• Review contracts/agreements for VAT implications affecting commercial decisions
• Lead day-to-day client engagements and balance transaction work with advisory
• Deepen client relationships and contribute to winning new work
• Develop Analysts and Consultants with hands-on guidance
• Contribute to market-opportunity development regionally and internationally
• Collaborate with colleagues across the firm to shape team culture and inclusion initiatives

• CTA or equivalent qualification
• Relevant experience in practice, industry, or with HMRC
• Excellent client-facing, relationship-building and business development skills
