<p class="text-muted mb-3">Overview</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Our client is seeking a hands-on Yard Operations Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of a busy waste and recycling site.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">This is a practical management position suited to someone with a strong mechanical plant background who is comfortable overseeing operations while also getting involved on the ground when required. The ideal candidate may currently be working as a Senior Plant Operator, Plant Supervisor or similar and be looking to take the next step in their career.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Responsibilities</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Oversee the day-to-day operations of the yard and ensure the site runs efficiently.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Manage and support a team of approximately 8-9 yard-based employees.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Oversee machine operators and ensure plant is being operated safely and effectively.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Operate site machinery when required to support the wider team and maintain operations.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Coordinate servicing, maintenance and repairs across the site's plant and machinery.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Identify mechanical issues and assist with troubleshooting and repairs where required.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Work alongside existing workshop and maintenance support.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Arrange and order parts and ensure maintenance</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Previous experience within a plant, waste, recycling, aggregates or similar heavy machinery environment.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Strong practical/mechanical understanding of heavy plant and machinery.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Experience operating heavy plant such as excavators, loading shovels or similar machinery.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Comfortable taking a hands-on approach rather than being purely office-based.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Experience overseeing or supervising a team would be advantageous.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Circa £60,000 depending on experience, with flexibility for the right candidate.</p>

<p class="text-muted mb-3">Monday-Friday, approximately 6:30am-4:30pm.</p>
