This is an exciting opportunity to join a closely knit team operating a site based shunting operation for our client at a large paper mill in Partington.

We currently have two shift patterns available. In order for your application to be considered, please ensure that your application states which shift you are interested in.

• Monday to Friday days 0600>1600 - £14.19 / hour
• Monday to Friday nights 1800>0400 - £16.98 / hour

About the Role:

As a Shunter Driver, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of trailers across our site. You will work closely with warehouse and recovered paper yard teams to maintain smooth operations while adhering to all safety procedures and site rules.

• Shunting duties: Offloading trailers of waste paper and loading outbound loads of paper reels for outbound delivery
• Curtains management: Open and close curtains as needed.
• Driving responsibilities: Adhere to current health and safety rules and best practices for unloading and loading trailers.
• Loading and Unloading: Assist with loading and unloading activities.
• Ratchet strap and corner management: Strip down loads of baled waste ready for offload / Secure loads of reels.
• Trailer Inspection: Monitor and check supplied trailers for defects before loading.

• Licence: A full UK C+E licence (LGV/HGV Class 1)
• Experience: Minimum 6 months of previous Class 1 experience.
• Physical Fitness: This role involves physical demands; applicants should consider this when applying.
